*Items from Clarion River Organics, Tuscarora Organics Cooperative, and Blackberry Meadows Farm are certified organic

Vegan Shares will receive applesauce from Kistaco Farm in place of eggs


Arugula

Grower: Harmony Grove Farm and Blue Goose Farm

Store : Store in plastic bag in the crisper drawer.

Recipe: Chickpea, Pesto, and Arugula Salad, Arugula Salad with Parmesan, Lemon, and Olive Oil, Penne Pasta with Arugula

 

Eggs

Grower: Jarosinski Farms

Store: Store in refrigerator for 2-3 weeks

Recipe: Shakshuka, Poached Egg over Polenta, Healthy Breakfast Egg Muffins

Frisee Endive

Grower: Harmony Grove

Store:Store in plastic bag in crisper drawer

Recipe:  Frisee, Poached Egg, & Bacon Salad, Frisee and Fingerling Potato Salad, Farfalle with Wilted Frisee

 

 

Parsnips

Grower: Tuscarora Organics Cooperative

Store: Store unwashed parsnips in a cool dark place, just as you would carrots.

Recipe: Sweet Potato and Parsnip Bisque, Creamy Parsnip Mash, Simple Roasted Parsnips

 

Stripetti Squash

Grower: Blue Goose Farm

Store: Store in a cool, well ventilated place

Recipe: Stripetti Squash with Garlic, Parmesan & Herbs, Stripetti Squash Au Gratin, Brown Butter Herbed Stripetti Squash

 

Green Meat Radishes

Grower: Clarion River Organics

Store: Store in a moist towel/cloth bag or a plastic bag in the crisper drawer of your refrigerator. Enjoy radishes within 3-5 days.

Recipe: Green Meat Radish Salad, Green Radish and Pork Rib Soup

 

 

Sweet Potato Fingerlings

Grower: Clarion River Organics

Store: Store in a cool, well ventilated place

Recipe: Honey Roasted Fingerling Potatoes, Simple Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Sweet Potato Black Bean Salad

 

Shallots

Grower: Gid’s Produce

Store: Shallots can last a month stored in dark, cool location with ventilation.  Don’t store in a plastic bag, and keep away from potatoes. Once cut, store in the refrigerator sealed in a container or plastic bag.

Recipe: Fried Crispy Shallots, Caramelized Shallots, Zesty Lemon Shallot Dressing

 

Rome Apples

Grower: Dawson’s Orchards

Store: Store in crisper drawer in plastic bag

Recipe: Old Fashioned Apple Cake, Grilled Apple and Cheese Sandwich, Apple, Cheddar, Squash Soup

 

Garlic 

Grower: Blackberry Meadows Farm

Store: Store in a cool, dark, well-ventilated area

Recipe: 30 Minute Garlic Knots, Creamy Garlic Pasta, Caramelized Onion & Roasted Garlic Bisque

 

Pumpkin Butter

Grower: Kistaco Farm

Store: Store in refrigerator after opening

Recipe:  Enjoy pumpkin butter on toast or biscuits or enjoy in these recipes: Pumpkin French Toast, Savory Pumpkin Butter Tart
