Farmer Highlight: Kistaco Farm

Kistaco (Kiss/tuh/koe) Farm is a family operated farm that has been in operation for 95 years! Currently, Tim and Suzanne Hileman together with their daughter Miranda are managing the farm, producing a variety of fruits and vegetables, specializing in apples and freshly-squeezed apple cider.

On their 235-acre farm, Kistaco utilizes IPM (integrated pest management) as a growing practice and pasture-raises their chickens and hogs.

In addition to seasonal fruits and vegetables, they also sell homemade donuts (made daily!), bulk foods, jams & jellies, spices, local honey, locally produced milk and many other specialty products year round at their farm located four miles east of Apollo on Route 56.

You can also purchase some of their lovely products such as apples, apple cider, vegetables and pasture-raised pork on our online Farm Stand here: https://pennscorner.localfoodmarketplace.com/

Kistaco is thankful that Penn’s Corner has dedicated staff coordinating sales, deliveries and pickups across the city and loves being a member of Penn’s Corner because it’s allowed them to put their fresh fruits and vegetables in the hands of so many families throughout the region.

We’re lucky to have Kistaco as a member of Penn’s Corner Farm Alliance for the past 16 years (since 2002) and we bet you are just as excited as we are to support a local family farm! We hope to continue to enjoy their delicious apples for many more years to come!
