Spring CSA – Week of April 13

Welcome to the 2016 CSA season!

Woohooo! Let’s get the 2016 CSA season started! The team just finished packing the first share and they look wonderful. You can see a brief video here if you’re curious.

Quick News:

We’ve partnered with Executive Chef Kevin Hermann from The Porch at Schenley to give you recipe cards in your share EVERY WEEK! He has crafted a unique recipe for each share. We would love to see your creations! If you happen to post them on the social medias, be sure to tag us or send us an email with your feedback.

Speaking of posting on the social medias, we’re going to be announcing a fun contest tomorrow! Hint: we’re giving away a winter CSA share! Make sure to watch your inbox for the details about how to enter.

Finally, there’s one piece of unfortunate news this week. We had planned to include garlic greens in the Z Route but Mother Nature threw us for a loop over the weekend. Our grower, Bill Foulk from Clubhouse Gardens, received about 5 inches of snow and wasn’t able to harvest as much as we had originally planned. He gave it his best shot, digging until midnight Friday night with a headlamp but unfortunately couldn’t fill the order.

Thank you, thank you for supporting our farmers. We truly appreciate you and look forward to bringing you the best produce from our farms!
