Store:  Keep blueberries refrigerated, unwashed, in a rigid container covered with plastic wrap

Weeping Willow Farm

Store:  Place new potatoes in a paper bag in a dark place and use quickly.  Because they’re new potatoes they haven’t been cured and won’t last as long as storage potatoes.

Store:  These onions have not been cured so they should be stored in the refrigerator and used within a couple weeks.

Zucchini

Weeping Willow Farm

Store:  Place zucchini in a plastic bag in the refrigerator.  It should stay fresh for at least 4 – 5 days.

Recipe:  Layered Zucchini Parmesan

Store:  Place parsley in the refrigerator in a plastic bag or immerse stems in a jar of water and cover loosely with a plastic bag.

Store:  Place leeks in a plastic bag in the refrigerator.  They will stay fresh one to two weeks.

Recipe:  Leeks Braised with Wine and Garlic

Weeping Willow Farm

Store:  Keep cucumbers in the crisper drawer of your refrigerator.  Wrapping them in plastic may keep them fresher for a longer period of time.

Store:  Place beans in a plastic bag in the refrigerator.

 

 

 

Collardscrop

Collard Greens, Clarion River Organics

Store:  Place unwashed collard greens in a plastic bag, in the refrigerator.  Collard greens and many other leafy greens may wilt easily.  Often, they are just dried out which can occur even if the greens remain in constant refrigeration.  To refresh collard greens, submerge the wilted greens in cold water and keep in the refrigerator overnight.
